The story did not accurately describe my stand on the VCEA (Virginia Clean Economy Act). The article stated "He opposes electric vehicle mandates and clean energy legislation...".
I do not generally oppose clean energy legislation. I oppose the VCEA, as presently structured. It will cause extremely high energy bills that you, the voters in the 77th, will have to pay, and pay, with little or no increased protection of the environment than that of reasonable laws.
Of course, we can shift a very large part of power generation to renewable or non-carbon sources. The large part from solar or wind needs reliable back up when there is no sun or wind. The law needs revised, or repealed and started over. I support rational laws to protect the environment. I wrote a letter to the editor of the Times-Dispatch explaining my true position on VCEA that was not published, to the best of my knowledge.
